The Iceberg Graveyard

Monday, May 16th, 2011

One of my favourite places in the entire world is a bay off the coast of Antarctica known as the Iceberg Graveyard.  Here giant icebergs float through the waters in a variety of different shapes and sizes.  It almost feels as through you are looking at calendars of Antarctica and not the place live, it is that beautiful.  When visitors see the icebergs they begin shouting out descriptions of what the ice looks like, in the same way that children do with clouds.  The deep blue colour of the ice shines powerfully and always leaves visitors excitedly taking photo after photo.  There are few places in the world as special as the Iceberg Graveyard, an experience to be cherished forever.

Travel memories

Saturday, April 30th, 2011

I can remember spending days flipping through the memories laid out in the form of photos on my computer.  I love how flipping through the images returns the sense of being at a certain location in the world.  It is almost like jumping directly into one of the latest travel calendars and being whisked away to a far off place in your memory.  Travel is addictive and the advances in travel photography in recent years has only increased the obsession.  Ask a group of people if they want to travel and today people will reel off hundreds of different locations that they dream of visiting, that they have seen to date only in the form of photos.  But as the world pushes us all closer together, it becomes more and more likely that they will themselves one day be able to take photos of their own.
